Why Bookarts?
I started out wanting to learn how to bind my own sketchbooks and this eventually led me some years later to enrol in an MA in Book Arts. Learning that a book can be so much more than paper and thread was a revelation.
What materials do you like to use?
My work is driven by a love of the making process and I often work intuitively. I work with old paper and books but also love to use textiles and found objects to create new narratives.
What inspires you?
I am frequently drawn to themes of childhood and the relationship between parent and child. My inspiration can be found in an old object or photograph, a quote or and overheard story.
