Alongside commissioned work for UK publishers, Pam works on personal projects where she can explore her love of the handmade book form.

Sandie Cottee will also be joining us in March at the Artbookart Show. She tells us she loves making books and journals and is constantly thinking up new ideas and designs. She loves taking photos and many of her books tell stories and hold special memories. When she realised she was giving most of them away as gifts she started to make some for herself and now has a large collection.
Sandie has an eclectic style and most of her books are one of a kind. She uses a wide range of materials including upcycled, new, and handmade and she gets excited about new ideas. She has run classes at workshops and is planning to do this as an e-course. At a recent retreat Sandie was asked if she sold her books and received 6 commissions. She realised that others liked her work and Sandie has since sold more in a gallery. Another wonderful preview this time from Barbara Bowen... We love Barbara's Red-riding hood themed book- 'The Wolf - friend or foe?' 'Decorated books - to seduce and inspire.'
Here is a beautiful sneak preview from Wendy J Allen, another artist who will be showing at HOFS next month. TIME PASSING, The experience of time passing is one that is common to all. Whatever we suffer, there are lessons to learn. This book deals with the traumas of life that shape us. GLIMPSES, “A daisy turning its face towards the sun, petals preened, cushion of gold; what memories are these?” GLIMPSES is a hard-back leporello with text one side and, on the other, images that afford glimpses to stir happy memories.
www.allenbookart.co.uk ![]() We also look forward to meeting artist David Howe who will be showing at ARTBOOKART Book Art Fair on Saturday 15th March 2014. David tells us, "My work is concerned with walking, watching and absorbing sights and experiences. I record these using handwritten text on natural objects and handmade paper." email: [email protected] ![]() We are looking forward to meeting artist and poet Karen Dennison who will be exhibiting at the Artbookart fair at HOFS next month. Karen has co-designed a number of poetry collection book covers and has designed and produced a pamphlet showcasing a sequential chain of responses, where poets respond to art and artists respond to poems. Her first poetry collection, Counting Rain, was published by Indigo Dreams in 2012. http://kdennison.wordpress.com ![]() Artbookart Artists Book Fair at HOFS.
